Government House is the official residence of the Lieutenant Governor. It is also the ceremonial home of all British Columbians.
The grounds embrace 36 acres, including Formal gardens and a rare Gary Oak ecosystem.
During May to September the Cary Castle Mews interpretive centre offers you a unique place to explore the history of this National historic site. I have enjoyed many days plein air painting in the grounds and a cup of tea/coffee and scone from the tea room.
