MEET THE ARTIST

“inspired by the beauty and scenery of the West Coast”

Pam has painted from early childhood. When in elementary school in England a gifted art teacher helped her discover the joy of imaginative ways to paint. Pam grew up in a creative home environment where she was encouraged to use her artistic gifts.

PEOPLE AND PLACES

Canada, UK and EU

She has painted or sketched where ever she has lived, or visited on vacation, and so has developed a keen eye to see the ever changing world. She first studied art with the Churchill School of Art in England and continued her interest in painting by taking courses with various artists in England and Canada. Over the years Pam painted places she had visited whilst on vacation. This has included painting scenes of people and sites from France, England, Portugal and Canada.

TODAY

In recent times courses at the Victoria School of Art and a plein air course have proved both instructional and helpful. Over the years through association with the Oak Bay Art Club, The Alfrescoes, Portrait painters (Goward House, Victoria), Coast Collective, (Colwood), the Victoria Sketch Club and as an Active Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, Pam has explored many ways of developing her personal style through mediums of pen and ink, watercolours, acrylics, oil and photography.

Painting once or twice a week is a continuing joy for Pam. The opportunity to paint outdoors and to utilize her photographic gifts provides her with delightful ways to compose pictures that capture the ever changing light and colours of her subject matter.
